Senior Designer, Singapore / Kuala Lumpur

What Is The Job?

CHO associates is looking for a Senior Designer to be based in Singapore/Kuala Lumpur, who will work with a team of project managers, interior designers, and contractors in the design and delivery of medium to large scale workplace transformation projects.

The successful Senior Designer will be involved in all project stages from concept development to design documentation, through to construction administration. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Prepare, deliver and win design presentation opportunities for new medium sized projects on a consistent basis
  • To develop client solutions and solve complex problems
  • Brainstorm with in-house strategic planners to consider new solutions that address cultural opportunities in each project and redefine our understanding of every day paradigms
  • Interface consistently and proactively with clients to ensure a smooth project delivery from inception to closure
  • Establish and maintain a high level of trust between the project team, client and other project stakeholders
  • Supervises the work and progress of Design team drawings, studies, specifications and other project tasks on multiple projects
  • Mentor and coach junior designers for enhances teamwork and skill-building
  • Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to share design and construction expertise in order to create inventive, well-crafted environments

Who Are You?

The successful Senior Designer must possess a demonstrated enthusiasm for considering design impact at multiple scales and contributing to design projects that emerge from a deep consideration of human interaction, from the scale of individual to the urban context.

As the successful Senior Designer, you will have the following Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in workplace interiors
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Design or related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), in Design
  • Experience working as a designer on mid-to-large scale workplace projects
  • Strong conceptual design talent and can provide a portfolio of signature works
  • Keen eye for detail with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving, deadline driven environment
  • Exceptional people skills with the ability to work with and manage teams
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong experience in maintaining design integrity from design concept to on-site construction.
  • Experience proactively mentoring younger designers and promoting a positive attitude
  • Ability to move from small project to big picture perspective in order to develop a holistic strategy geared toward design deliverables
  • Fluency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
